Saline Voice - Bauxite head coach Jon Watson wasn't in a talkative mood after Friday's second loss by his Miners. Faithful fans can't remember when a Bauxite team started a season 0-2, but so far the 2008 team hasn't won yet. This week against the Spring Hill Bears, of the 7-2A Conference could provide Watson and the Miners a better feeling, but nothing is for sure on Friday nights....

She has been a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church for a number of years and recently has been attending church at New Beginnings Bible Church in Sardis. She worked at the University of Arkansas for 25 years....

Monticello hasn't beaten the Lumberjacks since 2000, but the Billies believe they can knock off the Class 4A powerhouse, if they get healthy. Senior defensive tackle Ashton Pennywell played every snap against Vilonia last week but endured a concussion at the end of the game after racking up eight tackles and recovering a fumble. Pennywell and cornerback Hunter Lawson (missed Vilonia game with a broken bone) returned to practice this week, but right guard Mike Sawyer (shoulder problems) did not. Monticello's athletic ability in the secondary allows it to match-up with Warren's receivers. Monticello quarterback/receiver Ty Ferrell rushed for 61 yards, caught two passes, averaged 30 yards per punt return and returned a kickoff 83 yards for a TD against Vilonia. "We've got to get the ball in his hands more often," said Monticello coach Van Paschal. Safety Brishen Mathews tallied seven tackles against Vilonia, while linebacker J.J. Smith racked up 12 stops....
