Bill Gwatney died Aug. 13 after being shot three times by a man who lost his job at a Target store that morning. Warren finished second in the 8-4A this season, losing at Dollarway 32-26 in Week 4. But the Lumberjacks have won seven straight games with a stifling defense. They?ve allowed just 59 points during that span, with most of those points given up by reserves in the second half of blowout victories. The defensive dominance coincides with a barrage of injuries that left Warren playing third-team quarterback Sabian Gilbert.
