San Luis Obispo Telegram-Tribune - Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims is temporarily halting early inmate releases from the county jail while she waits to see if supervisors increase her budget.Mims released 72 inmates last week because of a nearly $3 million budget cut. She planned to release 800 inmates by month's end, close two floors of the 3,478-bed jail and lay off 50 correctional officers.County officials say they may have found a way to borrow $6 million to keep the inmates locked up and the guards employed....
