The suspect’s body is still in the building.Four other people were injured in the explosion that blew out the windows at McCamy, Phillips, Tuggle &Fordham around 10 a.m. today.According to state officials, Dalton police received a 911 call regarding a disturbance at the law firm, and when an officer arrived a man jumped out of an SUV and ran behind the law firm. At that time, there was an explosion.The officer was not injured.Of the four who were transported to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, one has been admitted to the hospital, two have been released and one will be transferred to a burn center in Augusta. All were listed in stable condition.The law firm building was on fire around 2:30 p.m. due to a hot spot from the initial explosion.Heather Seger, who works at an accounting firm about two blocks away from the McCamy Law Firm, said she heard an explosion about 10 a.m. She said the explosion rattled the windows of Winter and Scoggins where she works. She spoke to law firm partner Robert McCamy after the explosion. She told the Calhoun Times that she was told that a man who lost a court case walked into the office and threw a pipe bomb.She said she heard that one lawyer with the firm -- believed to be Jim Phillips -- was among the injured. These details have not been confirmed by authorities.District Attorney Kermit McManus confirmed at 11 a.m. that the suspect is Lloyd Cantrell, address unknown, the Dalton Daily Citizen reported.Police Lt. Bruce Frazier confirmed that the blast was caused by some type of explosive device. Investigators were looking into a person of interest in the case, but no one had been arrested, he said.Angela Dortch of Calhoun was headed into Dalton on business today. She reached the intersection near the law firm about 11 a.m. She reported that the intersection was blocked with rescue, fire, police and EMS vehicles. Reports are that the elementary school -- City Park School -- located behind the law offices was evacuated."School buses were coming in honking their horns trying to get through,"said Dortch. There are spectators on every corner."Four people hurt in the explosion were in stable condition at Hamilton Medical Center, spokeswoman Emily Michael said.One person will will be sent to a burn unit, a state official said.Police cordoned off the block and shut down a post office next door to the law firm, which personal injury and wrongful death, according to its Web site. An elementary school across the street was locked down, though it wasn’t damaged.Dalton police are investigating. Assisting in the investigation are the FBI, GBI and ATF. Rescue units from the Dalton Fire Department and Whitfield EMS also responded to the scene.According to information available on the Web about the McCamy, Phillips, Tuggle &Fordham, LLP Law, the firm was founded in 1932 as Hardin and McCamy. The firm now has six partners and two associates. One former member served for years as a federal judge in the Northern District of Georgia. The firm's practice has involvement in banking, utilities, government, corporate and real estate law together with considerable civil trial practice, insurance defense and estate planning. The firm is general counsel to Dalton's largest bank; the municipal utilities system; the county government of Whitfield County; the hospital and a national bank in Murray County, Georgia; and a number of large manufacturing concerns.The Associated Press contributed to this report....
