Huskey 38 is accused of raping a minor and posting videos on the Internet He was denied bond in a June 23 hearing in Atlanta In a July 23 arraignment in federal court in Rome he pleaded not guilty While the agents later acquired search warrants the original search of the home on June 16 turned up much of the evidence in the case as well as a number of incriminating statements from Huskey According to federal prosecutors he posted videos on an encrypted Web site of himself with a girl as young as 5 The faces in the videos and photos were unrecognizable because of masks or computer distortion Authorities searched Huskeyrsquo;s home and found a bedroom that matched the background in some of the online pictures and a locked closet containing photographs in which the faces were not distorted A federal agent testifying at the June 23 bond hearing stated that the man pushed the girl around and treated her very roughly and that the videos grew increasingly violent mdash; and shersquo;s a girlrdquo; said BryanSexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia ndash; ExpansionWeb site: sacnwgaorg24hour crisis hotline: 706 8020580Information line: 706 8610929No one at the center presses the victim to file charges Bryan said but victims have the option of doing so for up to a year Although most victims of sexual assault are women organizers said the center also serves menThe freestanding sexual assault center provides forensic medical exams for adults and adolescent victims of sexual assault a 24hour crisis helpline court accompaniment ongoing advocacy support groups prevention education resources and referrals It is an expansion of a Rome Gabased facility that serves Floyd Chattooga Polk and Gordon countiesElizabeth Watts a victim witness coordinator with the District Attorneyrsquo;s office in Catoosa County said she is part of a team working to create a uniform policy for all the counties involved as to how to integrate the sexual assault center into the process of helping victims and prosecuting assailants Part of that process involves getting away from billing victims for anything she saidCobb said the Walker County Sheriffrsquo;s Department like other agencies pays 450 for each victim they see to visit the sexual assault center and have an examinationProject coordinator Elaine Bradway said the center received an initial startup grant from the nonprofit Georgia Network to End Sexual Assault and 75000 from the Georgia Department of Human Resources for the first year She said she expects the center to serve between 60 and 100 victims each yearldquo;In counties that have a sexual assault team a center SANE law enforcement and district attorney collaborative prosecution rates are higherrdquo;
