39-year sentence for Elgin shooting

Courier News - An Elgin man convicted of gunning down another man at an apartment complex on Elgin's west side was sentenced Thursday to 39 years in prison. DeCarlo D. Harris, 26, most recently of the 300 block of Vandalia Street, was convicted in July of firing the lone bullet that killed 20-year-old Dwayne Johnson on the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive in the Buena Vista Apartments in the early morning hours of May 27, 2006.
