Kansas City Star - General Motors and Ford Motor Co. both made statements Friday that they were not looking at bankruptcy. Ford CEO Alan Mulally said the company had enough cash, and GM put out a statement saying that bankruptcy “would not be in the interests of our employees, stockholders, suppliers or customers, and we believe speculation about a possible filing is exaggerated and unconstructive.” Ford shares closed at $1.99, down 9 cents, and GM shares closed at $4.89, up 13 cents.
