Koivu had three more assists Monday night, helping the host Wild to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. With the win, and Buffalo's 5-2 loss to Ottawa, Minnesota (6-0-1) is the only NHL team that hasn't lost in regulation this season.
The center set up Andrew Brunette, Antti Miettinen and Brent Burns for goals, and the combination of Koivu, Brunette and Miettinen have 29 points this season.
"The goals come from Mikko's line, and it's a lot of goals," Wild coach Jaques Lemaire said. "If you look at their shifts, their shifts are all in the offensive zone. They control the puck so well, move the puck so well."
Koivu has stepped up in the absence of Minnesota star Marian Gaborik, who has missed five straight games because of an unspecified lower-body injury, leading the team with 13 points. He is among the league leaders with 12 assists....

Wideman scored on the power play after Shawn Horcoff went off for hooking midway through the extra period. He beat Oilers goaltender Dwayne Roloson high to the glove side.
It was Thomas' eighth career shutout for the Bruins (4-2-3), who won two straight for the first time this season.
Edmonton (4-3-1) has lost four in a row after opening the season with four straight wins. Things won't get any easier for the Oilers, who open a grueling seven-game road trip Thursday in Nashville....
Canucks beat Oilers 6-3 Found: 3 Weeks 6 Days 5 Hours 43 Minutes ago Lexington Hearld-Leader - Kyle Wellwood scored the go-ahead goal a power play 2:32 into the third period and the Vancouver Canucks used strong special teams to beat the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 on Saturday night.
Wellwood, who was on his way to the minors last weekend before Pavol Demitra's rib injury forced his recall, corralled a loose puck at the side of the net and, after first looking to pass, fired a shot over Mathieu Garon's glove.
It was Wellwood's second goal and third point in two games since being recalled to replace Demitra on the second line and power play unit.
It also was the third power-play goal of the game - Mason Raymond scored the first two - for the Canucks, matching their season total coming into the game.
Rookie Jannik Hansen added his second goal of the game 5 minutes later, and Jason Krog scored a fourth power-play goal with 3:14 left. With the victory, Vancouver ended a three-game losing streak. It was just their second win in the last six contests....
