Houghton Lake Resorter - Our Lady of the Lake School was the recipient of two grants recently from the Roscommon County Community Foundation. The school was awarded $300 from the Kellogg Youth Fund and $400 from the RCCF's general fund. The awards were used to help cover the cost for 12 seventh and eighth grade students to attend a three day camp at the Howell Conference and Nature Center. During this trip, the students participated in programs which taught social responsibilities, critical and creative thinking skills and team collaboration. In addition, they were able to take part in endurance and physical challenge activities such as rock wall climbing, high rope climbing courses, zip lines, hiking and touring the wildlife habitats.
