3rd District candidates debate at OCC next week Found: Minutes ago Asbury Park Press - TOMS RIVER -- Ocean County College will host the final debate in the 3rd Congressional District between Democrat John Adler and Republican Chris Myers at 7 p.m. Wednesday.The public is invited to submit questions to the candidates via e-mail at debate@ocean.edu no later than 4 p.m. on the day of the debate.The forum will take place in the gymnasium of Ocean County College. Parking is available in Parking Lot 2. The event is open to the public.The debate will be broadcast live on radio station WOBM-AM 1160 and will be broadcast for television at 9 p.m. on Comcast Ocean TV-20, which is available to the cable outlet's subscribers on Channel 20. However, the college station is not available in some areas of the 3rd District.The debate will be presented by OCC's Social Science Department and the "Students Learning About Politics''club. The debate will be moderated by NJN News correspondent Marie DeNoia Aronsohn.The 3rd District stretches across the Pine Barrens of South Jersey from Long Beach Island and the Barnegat Peninsula in Ocean County to the Delaware River in Burlington County, and includes Cherry Hill in Camden County.Adler is a private attorney and state senator from Camden County. Myers is an executive with Lockheed Martin and the mayor of Medford in Burlington County. The race is one of the most competitive Congressional races in the country, with all polls showing the race is a virtual dead heat.Rep. Jim Saxton, R-NJ, who has held the seat for 24 years, is retiring when his current term expires in January. The election is Nov. 4....
