Greenville Online - Our banks are into redistribution My fellow citizens' lack of perspective and sometimes lack of education never ceases to amaze me. When Barack Obama spoke of "spreading the wealth around" he was called a socialist -- probably by people who couldn't tell you what socialism is. A few weeks ago, our nation's banking elites pulled off what will be the biggest redistribution of wealth upward in U.S. history -- possibly in world history. A minimum of $700 billion, that is, will be transferred to the banks at taxpayer expense. Some of us have been calling this a Robin-Hood-in-reverse heist. The bank officials used scare tactics and prevailed on fears of an economic meltdown and possible global depression for which they alone would have been responsible....
