The State - SPARTANBURG -- A car crash Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of a Landrum High School sophomore and injured two of his classmates, The Spartanburg Herald-Journal is reporting. Tyler Cole Quinn, 16, of 250 Apple Orchard Road, Inman, died on his way home from school. The two other students in the car were taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, one by ambulance and one by helicopter.The crash occurred about four miles from Landrum High School on S.C. 357 near the Patterson Road intersection, just before 4 p.m.Quinn, the front passenger in the 1990 red Acura Integra, died at the scene. The backseat passenger was in critical condition Wednesday night, and the driver, a 15-year-old, was hospitalized with less severe injuries.Lance Cpl. Kathy Hiles with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the car in which the students were riding veered off the right side of the highway and overturned.Quin was thrown from the vehicle through the sunroof, the newspaper reported....
