The State - President George Bush and first lady Laura Bush plan to make a brief visit to Charleston later this week, taking some time to congratulate the South Carolina team that recently won the Little League Softball World Series and to attend a fundraiser.It could be the last visit Bush makes to S.C., a state that has staunchly supported him, as president. Bush will leave office in January after serving two terms.The White House announced Wednesday the president will fly Friday to the Charleston Air Force Base to meet and pose for pictures with members of the Simpsonville Stars.The president then will head to Kiawah Island for a reception sponsored by the Republican National Committee before flying back to Washington.Friday will be the second time Bush has visited S.C. to attend a fundraiser in less than a year.
