Archambeau leads Pirates to 9A state title

The Daily Republic - VERMILLION - After two of Avon's seniors went down, running back Earv Archambeau knew he had to step up his game.
He had a hand in three of Avon's first four touchdowns, including two rushing scores and a halfback pass to Marshall Cihak in the back of the end zone. He finished with 213 rushing yards and was awarded the Joe Robbie MVP award and the Outstanding Back award for helping Avon rout Gettysburg 37-8 in the 9A state title game Thursday in Vermillion.

The Daily Republic - VERMILLION - It might not be official, but Hanson staked its claim as the best team in all of nine-man football Thursday.
Hanson left no doubt that it's the best team in Class B, beating Hitchcock-Tulare 50-24 in the state championship game, finishing off a dominant 12-0 season and claiming its second state title. The other one was a Class 9A title in 2005.
