ABINGDON, Va. – It all started with some kids.
Carol Jackson made a visit to one of her old haunts: Weaver Elementary on the outskirts of Bristol, Tenn.She was once a teacher at this school, as well as Mary Hughes Elementary in Piney Flats, Tenn.
But it was here, at Weaver, where Jackson took a challenge from some young charges.
“The kids asked if I would write a ghost story,” Jackson said.
That was a couple of years ago, when Jackson began promoting her first books for children, like “Georgie the Gifted Giraffe” and “Adventures of Little Jacky Bear.”
Immediately, Jackson came home and started writing “Devlin’s Valley.”
