Clinton lost the democratic nomination But she said she didn't think that happened and found the convention to be very inspiring And despite the recent inspiration and excitement for Obama supporters during the convention Katy Phillips chair of the Eau Claire County Democratic Party stressed the need for more volunteers We can't take anything for granted she said but minutes before Obama's acceptance speech she said she couldn't be prouder of this country I'm excited that a lot of the country is feeling the hope I have and the need to change the direction we've been going she said Obama's speech which concluded the Democratic National Convention borrowed many of the same lines from his speech Sunday in Eau Claire Charlotte Rasmussen the westcentral Wisconsin regional chairwoman for the McCain campaign said Obama delivered the speech well but he provided no details on how he would fund or carry out some of his plans including a tax cut for 95 percent of the countryAlthough he talked about the American dream she said his proposals would hinder that dream and lead to a more socialist countryWhen you take away the right of a person to work hard and earn a decent living but
